Some days (very rarely) I miss going into an office every day. Now that I work remotely it is hard for me to imagine working in an office every day (though I’m sure it’ll happen eventually). The one thing I really miss from working in an office is my wardrobe! My job was pretty relaxed so I could wear almost anything as long as it looked fairly put together (no jeans pretty much!). So I felt like I really got to experiment with different outfits even in the corporate world.
Now that I work from home I try to balance looking nice and being comfortable. For example, today I’m just sporting some workout clothes but other days I’ll throw on a dress like this! It’s all about balance, right? But this dress is something I wish I’d had when working in an office! It’s the perfect piece for going from work to a bar (which I used to do frequently haha). It’s also super soft so it’s not a stiff shirt material!
I thrifted this dress (of course!) this past weekend. I decided to try out a new Goodwill in my city. It wasn’t the best one but I did find a few pieces including this dress! I’ve actually been looking for a shirt dress for a while now. I wasn’t really looking for a floral one (especially a ditzy print like this) but that’s what you get when you go thrifting! I just loved the colors of this one and the fit is perfect. I find shirt dresses can be tricky to fit properly but I love the loose fit of this one.
Everything else in this outfit is pretty standard for me – flats and a nice watch. I’m still surprised by how much wear I’ve gotten out of these nude flats that I’ve thought about purchasing them in the red (here). They are SO freaking comfortable. Normally I can find some ballet flats to be way too stiff and uncomfortable but these didn’t take any time to break in. I did get some blisters wearing them a few weeks ago but I think it was the heat. But yeah, I’ve talked about these shoes probably a thousand times on this blog.
