Cruelty-Free Makeup Favorites!

Cruelty-Free Beauty

Today I’m sharing some recent cruelty-free makeup favorites. For a long time I’ve always said I wanted to move more towards cruelty-free makeup but I never really did anything about it… until recently. I’ve been making more proactive and informed choices when it comes to my makeup choices. I’ve got a youtube video up that you can watch OR if you’re more a blog reader you’ve come to the right place!

Definitely, the standout brand here is, of course, Glossier! I’ve read so much about the brand but was hesitant to try them as they can be a bit pricey. But I was recently in NYC and decided to hit up the flagship store. It did not disappoint! It’s amazing!! It’s like the Apple store for makeup, haha. But you get to try out all the products so I picked up a Cloud Paint in Storm and a Lidstar in Cub. The Cloud Paint is a beautiful wash of color on my cheeks but it is definitely possible to add too much! The lidstar is the prettiest wash of color. It’s very sheer but still adds a nice rosy & shimmery look to the eye.

The product I’ve been most surprised by is the Trestique highlighter. I just swipe it on my cheeks and rub it in with my fingers and it is beautiful! It’s subtle but it still shows up and lasts for a long time, which is always great!

I’ve reviewed the Milk Makeup Urbame Mascara before but it still doesn’t cease to impress me! It also lasts an incredibly long time and it’s got the most beautiful and natural look to it. You can build it up if you want more dramatic lashes but I usually just swipe on one coat and it makes my lashes voluminous and lengthy in a nice, natural way.

And the last product is the Joah blush palette in the lightest shade (I can’t link to it as it is only available at CVS!). It’s only $13, which I think is a pretty good deal considering what you get with it. It’s a combined blush, highlight, and bronze palette. I like to combine all the colors and apply it on my cheeks for the most beautiful glow! I’ve found you really can’t apply too much as it is also fairly subtle but in a good way. I’ve accidentally gotten pretty heavy-handed with it but I didn’t look like a clown!

The last product I want to mention is the Honest Beauty Sheer Lip Crayon. I definitely wouldn’t say this is sheer at all but it is a really nice product! I picked mine up in Coral. At first when applied, this lip crayon appears kind of demi-matte but when it dries it’s pretty matte. But it lasts for a long time and doesn’t dry out your lips at all! Definitely a 10/10 for this lip crayon.
