Discovering Petite Clothing

I’ve always known that petite clothing is a ‘thing’ but I’ve never really sought after it. I don’t know why. I even read various petite clothing blogs like Extra Petite and my friend Devinne’s blog Chicago Petite. But I guess I thought it would be a hassle to find things.  I’m only 4’9″ so petite clothing seems like it would be the perfect thing for me. And you know what? IT IS!!

I had a youtube video talking about my goals for the new year but one thing I didn’t touch on was my style resolutions. I think one of my style resolutions this year is to wear things that fit. I’m often found wearing clothing that I feel like I’m swimming in fabric. My sleeves cover my hands, dresses that are an awkward length, etc — but not anymore. I’m resolving to wear things that I feel my most confident in this year.

My mom gifted me this beautiful dress from Ann Taylor Loft for Christmas. I did have to get it hemmed (boo) but the sleeves FIT! I think I’ve gotten used to sleeves being ill-fitting that I didn’t realize how nice it was to have sleeves that actually fit for a change. This dress is seriously the softest material I think I could live in it. I also don’t have a lot of clothing this green color but it is easily becoming a favorite of mine. I’ll be able to pair so much with this dress!

My watch was also a very generous gift. I’ve never owned anything designer so this is probably the most precious accessory I’ll ever own! Haha. It’s also perfect because the watch face is big enough that I can read it (big plus if you’re visually impaired)!
