Midi Skirts and plaid shirts

I realized I have an abundance of patterned skirts and not enough solid colored ones. It’s becoming a bit of a problem considering how so many of my tops are patterned as well! You can only pattern mix so much. I also don’t normally venture into longer skirt territory considering I’m only 4’9″ but I decided to give it a go.

The title of this post is a bit misleading, I suppose. This skirt is actually a dress from Old Navy! It’s a midi-dress that is sleeveless and I wanted to figure out a way to wear it for the fall. I didn’t get enough wear out of it this summer because in the humid, stifling Georgia heat – it is not something you want to wear. But it’s been unseasonably warm here this month, like I’ve said, so this look is perfect. When it gets chillier I can definitely see myself chucking on a denim or leather jacket and tights!

My plaid (or tartan?) shirt was a thrifted find but is actually from forever 21. It’s a thinner plaid so it’s perfect for transitioning to the cooler months! It looked a bit frumpy if I left the shirt as is so, I decided to tie it up in the front.

I’m also fully aware I need another pair of black booties because I pretty much wear these everyday. I do apologize but when you have children sized feet it can be a bit of a challenge to find shoes!
