It is sadly still not as chilly as I’d like to be in the South. I can still get by wearing a skirt without tights and I hardly needed this denim button up as a jacket. I’m getting pretty tired of it. But alas, here is one of my favorite outfits for fall featuring my most beloved vintage skirt.
The skirt was originally my Mom’s when she was probably my age. However, when I found it in the attic it was down to my ankles! So, I got it hemmed and now it is the perfect vintage mini a-line skirt. It is definitely one of my favorite skirts when it starts to get cooler as it’s a bit of a thick material. This skirt is also surprisingly on trend as it’s got a bit of an a-line fit to it now, which is always something I love.
I paired the skirt with a speckled gray t-shirt I got from Old Navy last spring. If something has a bike on it you can guarantee I’m going to pick it up. I absolutely love my bicycle as it’s one of my only modes of transportation considering I don’t drive. And this t-shirt is pretty much the epitome of comfortable, which is always a plus in my book!
I also threw on a denim button-up just as some layering. I absolutely love the combo of brown and navy so I when I wear this skirt I tend to always wear something denim with it. I also love a bit of pattern mixing and these two patterns so subtle so I think it works pretty well.
I wanted to keep the vintage feel throughout the outfit so I threw on a pair of thrifted loafers. Loafers like these are definitely a staple in my wardrobe. I love wearing menswear inspired shoes with more feminine pieces like skirts and dresses.
